Prize Monkey, the breakout hit of CES's Eureka Park, is partnering with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association to bring mobile vending innovation to the 2012 Cable Show in May. The arrangement allows exhibiting NCTA members including HBO, Showtime, Discovery Networks and others to sponsor Prize Monkey's automated prize dispensing platform placed throughout the event space. Cable Show guests can instantly receive promotional items and branded prizes for completing mobile interactions on their smartphones or tablets. Designed to interact with mobile devices directly through embedded wifi hotspots, Prize Monkey identifies when the interaction is complete to dispense items from vending style machines. Each machine is outfit with a full HD display giving sponsors additional visibility and ways to attract guests to participate. The arrangement represents a first for both the NCTA and Prize Monkey which debuted their machine at CES in January. Prize Monkey, a participant of Startup America, was one of a select group making up Eureka Park, a experimental exhibit area at CES created specifically for startups. In addition to dedicated prize machines, Prize Monkey is releasing a module that activates any existing vending machine. The module creates a wifi hotspot and allows consumers to select any item in the machine on their device and then complete a sponsored interaction to receive the item instantly. Accessory Power to Donate 5% of Panda Pal Net profits to Pandas International's Bamboo Project. Accessory Power supports the nonprofit organization in efforts to preserve the Giant Panda and its habitat Pandas International is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the Giant Panda and its habitat. With only approximately 1,600 wild pandas in existence around the world, the organization concentrates on educating the public, and raising money for research and the preservation of panda habitats. The nonprofit organization also provides assistance to the China Conservation and Research Centers for the Giant Panda. The approximate 40 panda reserves across China are dedicated to protecting pandas and their natural habitat by patrolling reserves to prevent poaching and logging, conducting research on pandas and their behavior and mating habits, providing corridors for panda migrations, and many other services. Donations to Pandas International, like the one being provided by Accessory Power, are used to provide medical equipment and supplies to Panda Reserves in China. Donations are also used to fund the education program. After the 2008 earthquake in the Sichuan Province of China that affected the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve Center and the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center, Pandas International also provided medicine, food and electrical equipment to the reserves and neighboring communities.
